Dana White Califica A Jorge Masvidal Como Brillante Por Haber Aceptado El Chance Titular Con Poca Anticipación Ante Kamaru Usman

Se suponía que el campeón de peso wélter del UFC, Kamaru Usman, defendería su cinturón ante Gilbert Burns en el UFC 251 del próximo fin de semana. El problema es que Burns se vio forzado a salir de la cartelera porque recientemente dio positivo a Covid-19.

Afortunadamente, la pelea por el título de las 170 libras sigue en pie gracias al campeón BMF, Jorge Masvidal, quien aceptó el reto de reemplazar a Burns y enfrentar a Usman con apenas unos pocos días de anticipación.

El presidente de la compañía del Octágono, Dana White, entregó algunas declaraciones para TMZ Sports, en donde elogió a Masvidal por haber jugado bien sus cartas al tomar un combate con poco aviso por el oro del UFC (vía BJPenn.com):

Dana White: "Es como la pelea entre (Justin) Gaethje y Tony Ferguson. Gaethje vio la oportunidad y la tomó. Fue brillante por parte de Masvidal el haber entrado luego de que Gilbert diera positivo".

"Gilbert Burns está rankeado en la primera posición mundial. Era una gran pelea, pero no pudo ser. La pelea que la gente quiere ver, la pelea del pueblo, es esta pelea. Fue absolutamente brillante que Masvidal se deslizara a esa posición y tomara la pelea".

(Texto en inglés): "It's like the (Justin) Gaethje and Tony Ferguson fight. Gaethje saw the opportunity and took it. It was brilliant of Masvidal to slide in after Gilbert Burns tested positive," White said.

"Gilbert Burns is the No. 1 ranked guy in the world. It was a great fight, it fell out. The fight the people want to see, the people's fight, is this fight. It was absolutely brilliant of Masvidal to slide into this spot and take the fight."
